Book Links is the result of a dream which began in 2003. This dream was to establish a children’s literature centre here in Queensland which would rival literature centres in other states and provide the “link” to connect our renowned authors and illustrators with Queensland’s young people. In 2004, the Queensland Branch of the Children’s Book Council of Australia celebrated its 50th anniversary. During that year members were keen to develop commemorative projects to celebrate this key milestone, whilst furthering the aims of the CBCA in Queensland in some distinct way. |

The long journey of red tape and discussions began and finally Book Links emerged and was registered as an Incorporated Association in February 2006. Through its activities this enterprise will make a significant contribution to the appreciation and understanding of children’s and youth literature for its primary audience of children and young people, as well as to authors, illustrators, educators and others within the wider community |
